Peter Stobart—2006 to 2007

Originating from Bradford, Peter Stobart is a singer, organist and conductor. Whilst still at school he was the Organist and Director of Music at Bingley Parish church for three years. During this time, he gained his Associateship of the Royal College of Organists. He then spent a gap year as the Organ Scholar of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

He graduated from the University of Durham with an honours degree in music. Whilst studying there, he was the organ scholar of the College of St. Hild and St. Bede for three years and he also directed the Durham University Chamber Choir for two years, an a capella group made up of the best singers in the university.

He sings in the Peterborough Cathedral choir and he currently conducts the St. Peter’s Singers, a chamber choir based in Peterborough. In September 2007 he moved to London to take up a place in Choral Direction at the Royal Academy of Music.
